Kangoo's on Top of The World!
And there Off!

On June 23^rd 2005(dependent on Weather), a mother and daughter team, Carole and Leah Tucker will trek Mount Kilimanjaro, in their Kangoo Jumps to raise money for charity.

The two charities concerned are: The Topsy Foundation ( www.topsy.org.za ) and the Porters Association

We aim to keep our web site updated with their progress and photographs.

24th June 2005:

Day 1." Rain forest not as wet as last time,the kj's enjoyed the new path through the forest"

Day 2 "Got to shira plateau, was a very steep climb. The kj's got a good work out. We are at 12500ft, had forgotten how big the mountain is"

The ladies are in good spirits and seem to be enjoying the kj's.

Day 3 " climing to 15 000 ft. Slept at 13 600ft. Weather is still great. Will climb Baranco wall tomorrow. From the campsite it looks like a sheer wall. KJ's are performing well"

Day 4 "crawled up Baranco wall, KJ's travelled in style with the porters. It is a beautifull day with good views of the summit and glaciers. The KJ's are still causing much amusement with the porters. Tomorrow night is summit night!!"

Day 5 " Short but very steep climb today. Made it to barafu camp 15200 ft. It is in a desert zone, nothing but rock and snow above us. There are only white necked ravens and bearded vultures. Oh yes and one mouse which lives off the climbers. Everyone is very tired and struggling to breath at this altitude. We are looking forward to the summit. We should reach there by 11h30 pm"

Its official...KJ"s are King of the world...

"WE made it. Absolutely exhausted"

They will now take a few days to get to the bottom again. Will post photos as soon as that happens.
